Newton - Flint, Mi After many years of using Microsoft SideWinder Strategic Commander, I was no longer able to repair the aging device and surcome to getting a new controller. Shopping throught all the possible controllers and reviewing customers response, If figure the the Cyborg Command Unit was the the best bet, what a HUGE disappointment, like betting the Detroit Lions will win the superbowl.(sorry guys) I am just going to list the difficulties, because I really can’t recall any positive ones. Dealing with controller for five day and deciding to sending it back for a refund, only to purchase another recommmended by individuals who went throught that same hair pulling situation with the Cyborg controller. The installing the software that it comes with, requires an installation time of five minutes, which afterward then needed to by updated for another four to five minutes before you even start to program the controller. Once you have the complete up to date software installed, its keys are already assign action that you’ll need to remove to preform that action the you need to have done. Just more time lost trying to remove that information so that you can set the controller up for your own use. Last and worst problem in dealing with this device is getting help from a customer support, I was so greatful that they have a toll free number to talk to individuals having be left on hold for 10, 20, and 30 minutes waiting to talk with someone that had any concern for my problems or an interest in resolving it felt, like was like an Irishman talking to the Pope. It is regulary crashing my computer.I followed the instructions closely,but with no sucsess.My advice is,”This thing is not what is advertised. Logitech Illuminated Ultrathin Keyboard with Backlighting Bought it for the back light. Love it for the comfort and speed. - - Like other reviewers, I wanted a backlit keyboard but didn’t want a gaming keyboard. The back lighting is great but what’s even better is the laptop feel of the keys. This keyboard is fast, slim, super easy to type on, takes up minimal room on the desk and is stylish too. Prior to this keyboard I used Microsoft split/ergo keyboards but I like typing on this much more. I’d choose this keyboard again even if it didn’t have back lighting. The lack of a dedicated scroll lock button scared me because I have this keyboard hooked up to a [powered] KVM. I didn’t have to figure it out because they KVM has physical buttons on it for switching computers. The keyboard lights up fine using a powered KVM and works fine on both Mac and Vista. If only Vista worked as smoothly with a KVM as this keyboard does. Lighted function keys would be nice too since I often hit F5 to refresh my web browser. Other than those two gripes the keyboard is near perfect. It’s a straightforward corded keyboard that is chique and quiet. My girlfriend complains that when I work at night, the keyboard clicking keeps her up, so I went through three different “silent” keyboards before I tried this one out. And it’s amazing! It’s the most quiet keyboard I’ve ever used and it’s also extremely comfortable for my wrists. In short, it’s an extremely well designed keyboard with a backlight that can be turned on/off/dimmed. The clear plastic border of the keyboard is flimsy and cheap but it looks nice anyway. I gave up my Saitek Eclipse II because even though that was a better gaming keyboard, this Logitech keyboard was simply a quieter, elegant and every day functional keyboard that is slim and doesn’t look clunky like other keyboards out there. Saitek Eclipse Keyboard ( PZ30AU ) Paint wears off - Shayne J. Wissler - SLC, Utah USA Didn’t take very long for the paint to start wearing off the keys. X, C, S, and > are almost illegible now. Best keyboard I’ve ever used - Christopher Andrews - I’ve had my Saitek Eclipse keyboard for 4 years now and I still love it just as much as the day I got it! My overall favorite feature is the backlight, which I have no complaints about (for the picky users: the left half of the spacebar seems to be the brightest part, and the Pause/Break key is the dimmest). The keys have great feedback and have become somewhat louder after 4 years of constant pressing, but still much quieter than other keyboards I’ve used. Despite what other customers have reported, none of my keys have “worn” down. I’d say it still looks brand new, minus a few scratches here and there from dropping things on it. I’m back here now to buy another one as a birthday present for a friend, and even though there have been two revisions since this original model, I still prefer it.
