The earpieces give you flexibility in finding the perfect fit - they are about the only ones that come with the flanges (vs the rounded earbuds). I had always been skeptical of using headphones and a microphone with the phone as I didnt think it would work, but I use these all the time. I used to hate talking on my cell phone but now I almost prefer it because I can hear really well with these, and other people can hear me. I have recently used them on the train, in a coffee shop, and just puttering around the house in ‘hands free’ mode. the sound quality for music is also excellent - they are good at noise cancelling as well - I use them whenever there is a loud child or other distraction on the train and I want to focus. Didn’t really find what I was looking for but a friend suggest this. Originally this was not in my price range but I am so glad I made the investment. By far, this is the best pair of headphones I have ever owned. Works great with my phone, laptop, mp3 player, and with any other device with a 3.5mm jack for that matter. I was very impressed with the noise isolation that was claimed, almost on par with a pair of active noise canceling headphones that I had lost prior. These headphones are also very comfortable, and not bulky whatsoever. Sound quality was great, and in fact, the person on the other end of my phone calls would remark how clear I sounded.
