Our goals vary from losing 1 pound a week to .2 pounds a week. It is very important that a scale show the true weight (accurate) and consistently show the same weight (precise) when you step on it in a 5 to 10 min period. I kept my old scale, which I knew well, next to the new one for comparison.
Unfortunately the Soehnle 63530 Alpha scale was neither accurate nor precise. In a 5 minute period the reading would fluctuate as much as 1 pound. This seems to be a little below par for normal bathroom scales but I expected so much more from their literature and other reviews. If you can’t get the same reading twice, losing weight is even more frustrating than normal.
If you find a scale that reads to 0.1 pounds and is accurate and precise please let me know. The Soehnle 63530 Alpha scale is beautiful but doesn’t do the job.

I adjusted to the needle but would only go further under weight and wouldn’t point to zero. I figured it would be fine, I’d just add the negative weight. When I got on the scale the needle went in the opposit direction to the numbers listed. This was a waste of money and time.
